What Is Social Justice?

Rationale
Social Justice 12 promotes the pursuit of social justice and encourages students to develop the commitment and ability to work toward a more socially just society.
GOALS
1) Recognize and understand the causes of injustice 
2) Apply critical thinking and ethical reasoning skills to social justice issues
3) Understand how to act in a socially just manner

4) Become responsible agents of change

Social Justice
The full participation and inclusion of all people in society, together with the promotion and protection of their legal, civil, and human rights. The aim of social justice is to achieve a just and equitable society where all share in the prosperity of that society- pursued by individuals and groups through collaborative social action. 
Social Justice is about achieving and maintaining equity. In this course, you will learn how to identify social justice issues and investigate the underlying causes of injustice. It is the underlying causes that need addressing-usually in the form of social change, transformation, systemic change, and capacity building.
This course is about empowerment, transofrmation, equity, a civil society, and participatory democracy.
